Oh how I hate the flu virus ,

When you get the flu, viruses turn your cells into tiny factories that help spread the disease, man do they work over time.
t's possible to get the flu even if you are vaccinated. Influenza, or the "flu," is a illness of the breathing system (respiratory system).I was reading on flu facts .
every 10 years or so the flu virus goes through a major change. Your head aches, and so does every muscle in your body. You're cold one minute and hot the next. Your throat is scratchy and you're starting to cough. You might be coming down with the flu!
Flu Season Is November to April

If you get the flu, you'll have lots of company. Each year from November to April, millions of people all across the United States come down with the flu. Kids get the flu most often. But people in every age group — including teens — can catch it.

What Is the Flu I ask ?

Flu is the common name for influenza. It's a virus that infects the respiratory system.
Often when you're sick with a virus, your body builds up a defense system by making antibodies against it. That means you usually don't get that particular virus strain again. Unfortunately, flu viruses mutate (change) each year. So you aren't protected from getting the flu forever. No it seems to never leave just hang around and mutate

Some years the change in the flu virus is slight. Some it is a major mutation   The antibodies from having the flu before give you partial protection. But every 10 years or so the flu virus goes through a major change and many people get severe cases. These large-scale outbreaks are called epidemics. If they spread worldwide, they're called pandemics. The H1N1 ("swine flu") outbreak of 2009-2010 was considered a pandemic.

How Can I Treat Flu Symptoms Naturally?

Believe it or not, those flu symptoms you're experiencing are part of a natural healing process -- evidence that your immune system is working to battle the flu. For instance, a fever is your body's way of trying to kill viruses in a hotter-than-normal environment. In addition, a fever's hot environment makes germ-killing proteins in your blood circulate more quickly and effectively. Thus, if you endure a moderate fever for a day or two, you may actually get well faster.

Coughing is another productive flu symptom. When you cough, you're helping to clear your breathing passages of thick mucus that can carry germs to your lungs and the rest of your body.
To ease your suffering try a cup of chamomile tea  or you can buy sleepy time tea in your super market .and a warm blanket and sleep well.

From your bible. As to why Yule should be left to the pagans

Christian people do you not know your own bible and the teachings of your savoir
If you did my beloved Yule Tide Season would not even be in question as to weather it was your holiday or mine/read your bible understand it before you lay claim to some thing you are not entitled. .nothing boils my blood worse then the lack of understanding the teachings .and running off at the mouth.  A few more examples from your bible. As to why Yule should be left to the pagans and not threaded on by Christians

Is there some chance that He changed His mind over the years? That He no longer hates those ancient religious traditions? Perhaps though it was once unacceptable to worship Him with those ancient pagan customs, -it's acceptable today? Why don't we just let the Bible itself answer this question, since it is the "Word of God", and the "Word of God IS JESUS." Notice Hebrews 13:8-9, -"Jesus Christ is the SAME YESTERDAY, and TODAY, yes and FOREVER. Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings."

Aren't we "carried away by strange teachings" when we celebrate the so-called birth of Christ by (1) Putting a TREE in our home? (2) Decking it with silver and gold ornaments, lights and crowning it with a crown or star? (3) Laying gifts at its feet? (4) Burning a "YULE LOG"? (Yule is an ancient god of the Vikings) (5) Teaching our children the lie that a "jolly old man called "Santa" brings all the nice children gifts?

Now what does all these customs have to do with the birth of our Lord and Savior? How "strange" it is indeed that God's weekly Sabbath day and commanded Holy Day observances instructed in Leviticus 23, would be totally forgotten or ignored, and replaced by the very religious practices God warned against even learning about. And then to attach His righteous, holy name to it, -CHRISTmas, is an insult of the first degree.

Lies Connected with Christmas
There are many lies surrounding the modern observance of Christmas. Among them is that it is the birthday of Jesus, that Santa Claus brings all the good children gifts on this day, that it is even a Christian holiday, when non-Christians the world over observe it.
When our children ask, -"What does the tree represent?" What are they told? When they ask about putting gifts under a tree, tree ornaments, mistletoe, the wreath on the door and how all this fits in honoring the birth of Jesus, what are they told? Please study this subject, my friends, so that you can be truthful with your children.
It's very important for our children to know that we are truthful to them. After finding out the truth about Santa Claus, one little boy made the statement that he was going to check into "this Jesus business too." You see, he felt hurt and betrayed by his parents and the society around him. If adults would lie to him about the existence of a jolly old man called Santa, then why wouldn't they lie about a man called Jesus?

Winter Festival known as YULE

Why Do Non-Christians Observe Xmas?
Let me pose this question, -"If Christmas gets its roots from Christianity, -then why do so many Non-Christians observe it?"
Virtually every culture on this planet has holidays that are important to themselves but not to everyone else. So why is it that Christmas is so important to so many non-Christians cultures? It is because many of these cultures observed the same customs connected with what is called "CHRIST-mas" today, long before the birth of Christ.
Although the observance of Christmas is much older than the 2000 years of the Christian era, let's examine how it made its way into being a "Christian" holiday.
The Encylopaedia Britannica says -"Christmas was not among the earliest festivals of the (Christian) Church." It was not instituted by Christ or the Apostles, or by Bible authority. It was picked up from the worship of Paganism.
The Encyclopedia Americana says, -"Christmas, according to many authorities, was not celebrated in the first centuries of the Christian Church...In the fifth century the Western (Catholic) Church ordered it to be celebrated forever on the DAY OF THE OLD ROMAN FEAST OF THE BIRTH OF SOL, (Roman Sun-god) as no certain knowledge of the day of Christ's birth existed." Did you notice that these recognized historical authorities reveal that Christmas was not observed by Christians for the first 300 to 400 years after the Church was established. It was not until the fifth century that the Roman Catholic Church ordered it to be celebrated as an official Christian festival.
Since Christmas as a Christian holiday came from the declaration of the Roman Catholic Church, -let's see what they have to say about it first hand.
From the Catholic Encyclopedia, -"Christmas was not among the earliest festivals of the Church...the first evidence of the feast is from Egypt...Pagan customs centering around the January calends gravitated to Christmas."
Any encyclopedia or any other historical authority will tell you that Christ was not born on December 25th. The Catholic Encyclopedia, which is published by the very Church that brought it's observance into Christianity, frankly states that the birth of Jesus is not known.
From the Encyclopedia Britannica 15th edition, -"Christmas customs are an evolution from times that LONG ANTEDATE the Christian period -a descent from seasonal, pagan, religious and national practices, hedged about with legend and tradition." You can't put "BACK IN" what was "NEVER IN", and Jesus was never in the ancient pagan festival we now call Christmas.
It reminds me of Isaiah 29 as quoted by Jesus in Matthew 15:8-11, -"This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far away from Me. But in vain do they worship Me, teaching as their doctrines the precepts of Men."
Jesus likely born in the Fall
While the Bible does not expressly tell us the date of Jesus' birth, there are reasons to believe it occurred in the fall of the year. We know that Jesus was crucified in the spring, at the time of the Passover.(John 18:39) Figuring His ministry as lasting 3½ years,(Book of John mentions Jesus keeping 3 passovers) this would place the beginning of His ministry in the fall. At that time he was about thirty years old (Luke 3:23). Which was the recognized age for a man to become an official minister under the Law.(Numbers 4:3). So if Jesus turned thirty years of age in the fall, then His birthday was in the fall of the year, thirty years earlier.
Winter Festival Kept 2000 years B.C.
The fact that this winter festival was being observed more than 2000 years before the birth of Jesus Christ, and that those observing it were pagans honoring the re-birth of the SUN-GOD, proves that the origin of this festival can in no way be rightly associated with the birth of Jesus Christ which occurred thousands of years later.
notice Jeremiah 10:2-4, -"Thus says the Lord, Do not learn the way of the nations; and do not be terrified by the signs of the heavens, although the nations are terrified by them." There was fear surrounding the observance of the winter solstice...the days were getting shorter and shorter and the sun seemed to be getting weaker with each passing day. At this time fires were kindled and candles lit to encourage the "NEWBORN SUN-GOD" to give forth his light and warmth. Sun-worshippers believed this time to be the re-birth of the sun, -the birthday of the sun-god.
As the days began to get a little longer each day, it became a sign of the re-birth and an occasion for rejoicing and merrymaking. The "terrifying signs" referred to in Jeremiah 10:2, -that of the sun dying, was replaced by the appearance of its seeming re-birth as the days became longer.
Continuing in Jeremiah 10 notice verses 3 and 4, -"For the customs of the peoples are delusion (vain); for one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the ax. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not."
Doesn't this sound like the perfect description of the Christmas tree? God plainly calls this the way of the pagans and a custom of the people, doesn't He? And God commands His people to not worship Him in the way the pagan nations worship their gods, doesn't He? Isn't that what He commanded in Deuteronomy 12?
Some may claim that Jeremiah 10 is referring to a pagan idol and not to a tree, but fail to realize that the evergreen tree was considered sacred by many ancient peoples as a symbol of eternal life. The fact remains that Jeremiah 10 states that men went into the forest, cut down trees, propped them up so they wouldn't fall and decked them with silver and gold ornaments. These round ornaments represented images of the sun-god. Honestly, doesn't it seem strange to stand a tree in your home, lavishly adorn it, crown it with a star and lay gifts at its feet? Ever wonder why yours and other's gifts are laid under this object standing so proudly in your home? Doesn't it stand to reason that this custom originated from the ancient practice of giving an offering to a image of a pagan god?
Evergreen Trees Were Used in Worship
Notice Deuteronomy 12:2, -"You shall utterly destroy all the places where the nations whom you shall dispossess serve their god, on the high mountains and on the hills and UNDER EVERY GREEN TREE."
We find here that the pagan nations worshipped their gods on high mountains, on hills and under every green tree. The evergreen tree was considered sacred and holy because it remained green throughout the winter, not becoming bare and lifeless as the other trees. It was believed to possess eternal life by many.
Clearly, God does not desire a PLACE made for these things He calls an abomination to Him. Are you making a PLACE in YOUR HOME for these practices? Can you be sure God is pleased with you attempting to worship Him in this way? Shouldn't you study to learn the truth BEFORE you continue to seek to honor the great God of all things in this manner? And hasn't God warned us to be careful in how we worship Him?
Is it safe to assume that because we place the name of Christ on this ancient holiday today that it makes it pure and acceptable to God?
so Christan stop stomping on my blessed yule even your savoir says not to worship on these days;

Christians then borrowed the date and devised Christmas

I DO NOT CARE IF THIS DOES OFFEND SOMEONE…THIS IS WHAT I BELIEVE…I AM SICK AND TIRED OF EVERY YEAR WHEN CHRISTMAS COMES AROUND; THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO TAKE CHRIST OUT OF CHRISTMAS BECAUSE IT MIGHT OFFEND SOMEONE…WELL, HOW ABOUT ALL OF THE CHRISTIANS?...WHAT ABOUT OFFENDING US BECAUSE YOU ARE TAKING OUR CHRIST OUT OF CHRISTMAS?...CHRIST IS CHRISTMAS!...IF YOU AREN'T CELEBRATING CHRIST THEN WHY ARE YOU CELEBRATING?...CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT THE BIRTH OF OUR SAVIOR!...CHRISTMAS IS ONE OF A FEW HOLIDAYS LEFT THAT CELEBRATE "MY" CHRIST!...LEAVE "MY" CHRISTMAS ALONE!...AND TELL EVERYONE MERRY CHRISTMAS, NOT HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!...RE-POST IF YOU’RE NOT ASHAMED!!
well how about the truth.
Think about it, what have reindeer, elves, decorated fir trees, Yule logs and Santa Claus have to do with the Bible?  Nothing, nada, zip.  But they have everything to do with Yule.  This ancient Pagan holiday called Yule and it's counterpart "Christmas" are one and the same holiday.
Yule (December 25) was based on the birth of the sun.... To "Christianize" this favorite of all Pagan holidays, they changed it to "birth of the Son," called it "Christmas," and kept on keeping it just like they always had.
How did the Winter Solstice become a "Christian" holiday?
"...there's also a small disagreement about why the church later chose Dec. 25 for Christmas. Two main theories compete. One notes that in A.D. 274, the Roman Emperor Aurelian inaugurated Dec. 25 as the pagan "Birth of the Unconquered Sun"...Christians then borrowed the date and devised Christmas to compete with paganism."
"Christmas has its origins in several pagan holidays. The (Roman) celebration known as Saturnalia included the making and giving of small presents. This holiday was observed over a series of days...ending on December 25. (The birthday of Sol Invictus, the "unconquered sun")
"When the first missionaries began converting the Germanic peoples to Christianity, they found it easier to simply provide a Christian reinterpretation for popular feasts such as Yule and allow the celebrations themselves to go on largely unchanged, rather than trying to suppress them."  "The Scandinavian tradition of slaughtering a pig at Christmas (Christmas Ham) ...is probably the most salient evidence for this. The tradition derives from the sacrifice to the god Freyr at the Yule celebrations. Halloween and Easter are theorized to have been likewise assimilated from northern European pagan festivals."  (They go back further than that!)
The presents the wise men brought the baby Messiah were brought because they were coming before a King.  The Bible never suggests that we should keep a Roman style Saturnalia where everyone gave gifts to each other.  Jesus Christ was and is a Jew and He never kept Christmas in His life, He never mentions it.  He did ask us to keep a memorial of His death (Passover)...but never His birth.

The sun, not the Son.

2000 years ago...most of the world worshipped the sun, not the Son.
How much ancient sun worship (Baal worship) has been absorbed by Christianity?  You might be shocked to know the details~  This article finally reveals how some religions have adopted "Gnosticism" (Paganism and Christianity" blended together.) The early church fought hard against progressive religion and perversion of the truth.  This article delves deep and shows the progression of how paganism and sun worship slipped into your church while no one was watching...  Could you be practicing aspects of ancient sun worship and not even know it?  Read on to find out for your own protection!  You'll never look at church the same way, after reading this! you really want to read the full story  the link click here

How To Tell If Your Neighbor Lady Is A Witch

How To Tell If Your Neighbor Lady Is A Witch

You casually mention the moon's phase, and she knows the exact number of days, hours, and minutes until the next full moon.
All the stray cats in the neighborhood congregate in her garden.

A black crow has chosen the lamppost outside her house as it's favorite perch.

She doesn't weed her garden or lawn. In fact, it seems as if she is nurturing the weeds.

Her clothesline has only black clothes on it.

Local kids whisper as they pass her house, and run away if they spot movement in the house or yard.

Nobody trick-or-treats at her house because her costumes are always scarier than any of the children's.

There are footprints on the roof.

The trees near her house look as if they've been pruned for a flight-path.

She can't make a sandwich without adding fresh herbs to it.

The tea she offers you is yellow-colored and smells like flowers.

She never gets junk mail and when you ask her why, and she confides that she just returns it to sender after writing something on it in strange curly script.

When you drop in for a chat, the coffee pot or tea kettle is already starting to perk.

Jehovah's Witnesses never knock on her door.

She keeps the local candle shop solvent.

She has a pond out back full of frogs and you haven't seen that obnoxious storm-window salesman in a while.

She is always smiling peacefully to herself.

She went to a Halloween costume party dressed normally, and won first prize.

Her house always smells like incense and herbs.

She has black cats with strange sounding names.

She has a bumper-sticker on her car that reads, "I brake for toads".

She frequently gets questioned by the narcotics cops, who confiscate large amounts of dried green leaves and always return them with apologies after laboratory analysis.

At Christmas, it seems like half the garden is moved into the house.

On full moon nights, you hear the sounds of chanting and the tinkling of small bells.

You discover that the "realistic plastic" skull she affectionately calls "Christopher" in the living room is real. Didn't she say her most recent ex-lover's name was Christopher?

You catch her washing a crystal ball along with the dishes.

She wears a lot of silver jewelry, even when she is weeding or changing the oil in the car.

You knock on the door and she answers it wearing only a black robe. You apologize for interrupting her shower, but you notice her hair isn't wet.

She has a tendency to hum or chant quietly, especially while outside in the garden.

She has a tame raven that will eat from her hand in the garden.

She never catches a cold, despite a tendency to walk around barefoot often...even in the snow.

She dooesn't kill spiders...not even the huge hairy ones.

She has a lot of female friends that come around once or twice a month. When you ask what they're up to, she tells you they just have cake and ale and a nice chat.

You catch her kissing a toad.

She owns a custom made dinner set decorated with bats or a "stars and moons" design.

She has a mail-order account with a semi-precious gems wholesaler.

The priest who lives around the corner always crosses himself when driving past her house.

She never watches television...but owns shelves full of books with black spines and silver lettering.

To your knowledge she has never set foot in the local church. You've even heard rumors that she's been barred from it.

You ask to borrow a deck of cards for an impromptu evening of pinochle, and there are 78 in the pack.

You've never known her to go to a physician.

When you chat, she maintains eye contact the whole time.

Preparing for Magick — How to Cast Spells

The art of spell casting is a fairly simple process involving the raising and sending of energy towards a specific goal using basic techniques.
Spells are really just the manipulation of energy. This energy must then be sent towards a specific goal, and any excess energy should be released into the earth. This process can seem rather complicated, but as long as you’re centered and grounded correctly, the manipulation of energy can be fairly simple.
The Energy Within — Personal Power
Every living thing is full of power. The magick within is incredibly strong, and ready to be used. All the strength and power you will ever need is within you, including the strength to draw upon outside energies when necessary. However, for most people, these skills have never been used, or were used so long ago that they have forgotten them completely.
Personal power is like a muscle. It strengthens with use, and will atrophy with neglect. Start small, and practice frequently to encourage your personal power to become stronger. Eventually, your own personal power will be strong enough to accomplish what might seem to be impossible.
Using personal power requires intense emotion. It is best to focus on a goal you can feel passionate about for maximum effectiveness. The modern world teaches that strong passions must be repressed and controlled, so you will have to break through these years of conditioning, finding the flame that will fuel your own magic.
Raising Magickal Energy From Outside Sources
Raising energy can be done in many different ways. Some common methods of raising energy are:
Chanting
Drumming
Stomping
Clapping
Breathing
Singing
Dancing
Visualization
Meditation
Many Pagans and Wiccans use ritual to raise energy. This allows for the combination of many methods mentioned above. When raising energy, let the feeling that has been awakened using personal power permeate your entire body; feel the power surge through you.
Remember to draw energy from the earth, the same way you do when you’re grounding. Channel energy from the sun, the moon, a lake, or whatever natural sources are nearby. Open yourself to nature, or you will only have access to your own personal power, and this will quickly leave you exhausted.
One must see the desired goal as real and already accomplished. Experience the feeling of achievement that will accompany success. You will know instinctively when the energy is at its peak. In that instant, it is time to send it towards its goal.
Sending Magickal Energy Towards Its Goal
Raising energy does no good if it’s not eventually sent out to accomplish its goal. To do this, visualize the energy streaming from you into either the object of the goal itself, or a visualization of this goal. For example, for healing, you would visualize the energy entering the person to be healed (following all magickal ethics, of course).
If the person is not sitting directly in front of you, try using a photograph, or perhaps a lock of hair. Even picturing the person sitting in front of you will do. Imagine them as hale and healthy, raise the power, and channel it into them. Keep the vision of them fully healed in your mind for the duration. Avoid distractions during this process.
Some visualizations are not as easy as this. For example, if you’re casting a spell for increased concentration, you may have to visualize yourself studying, or working, or whatever image works for you. See yourself participating in an activity that is associated with your goal.
Releasing Excess Energy Into the Earth
After the energy has been raised and sent towards its goal, you will probably still feel as if you’re vibrating, too keyed up to sleep. This means that there is still excess energy circulating throughout your system. This energy is fine in the short term, but it will eventually begin to have adverse effects such as:
Headaches;
Inability to sleep;
Too much tension; and
Hyperactivity.
There is no need for this, as the excess energy can be sent into the earth. Simply place your hands upon the ground (preferably the earth itself, but it’s not strictly necessary). Allow the excess energy to drain through your hands and into the earth. As an alternative, you could try sitting on the ground and allowing the energy to drain though your ‘roots’ into the earth. This is the reverse of most common grounding exercises.
Many rituals, especially Wiccan rituals, involve ‘cakes and wine.’ This is a more mundane method of releasing excess energy. When your body has to digest physical food, it can return to its normal state much more quickly. Releasing excess energy is highly important, no matter which method is used, so if simply having a meal after spells and rituals is easiest for you, then do so.
Casting spells is not necessarily an easy process at first. However, with time, patience, practice, and an internal elemental balance, it does become easier, and eventually second nature. Some spells have a long list of ingredients and tools, and while these may enhance the working of a spell, they are not strictly necessary.

What Night Is This?

The lyrics is so touching I had to share them with you ,
Under the Full Moon I pray, may tomorrow be a brighter day. Bless us with your light and love. May below be as above. Blessed Be!
ladylafay.com

What Night Is This?

What night is this so long and drear
When all good folk would gather near
To light their pyres, the Solstice fires
And tend the blaze till morning.

All, all of nature sing
As the days grow long, so comes the Spring.
All hail our Lord, the Sun,
The babe of our blessed Lady.

So build the fires strong and high
The wind will be His lullaby
Returning king, of thee we sing
Watching the Yule log burning.

All, all of nature sing
As the days grow long, so comes the Spring.
All hail our Lord, the Sun,
The babe of our blessed Lady.

Come join me by the Yuletide flame
To call our Lord by His holy name.
By fire bright, invoke His light
Keeping watch till dawning

All, all of nature sing
As the days grow long, so comes the Spring.
All hail our Lord, the Sun,
The babe of our blessed Lady.

Creating A Wiccan Book of Shadows

Ever wondered how to create a Book of Shadows before? You will find a comprehensive list of items that nearly every Wiccan Book of Shadows should include.
Creating a Wiccan Book of Shadows, is not as daunting as many have been led to believe. There is really no right or wrong way to create a personal book of shadows, as each is different in their own way. The only real exception to this is where a coven may have a single Book of Shadow that is shared among all their coven members during rituals.

Many who have believed in Wicca for an extended period of time, and that have come to teach others usually will have two different Book of Shadows. One will be their personal version, which only they will see while the other is open to anyone to be read, learned from, and copied as necessary. An example would be a neophyte whom may be copying down the “standard” Full Moon Ritual so they can grasp the basics of how it is conducted before entering the circle.

General Information:
Tools – Describe each tool used, and their purposes within a circle
Invocations – Of both the Wicca God, and Goddess
Divination – Information on Tarot Cards, Stones, Crystal Ball, and other means of divination
Symbols – The various symbols, and their meanings should be included within this section. There are a lot of symbols most will rarely be used, however this provides you the information needed if it should arise
Book List – Create a list of great resource books that would like to be owned, or shared with others as great resource books to learn from
Recipes – Is there a favorite recipe that is used frequently used, then this would be the opportune place to write it down. The greatest part of having a recipe section is no more trying to remember a certain one, or locating that small piece of paper that it was written down on
Rituals & Sabbats:
Full Moon Ritual
New Moon Ritual
Invocations
How to cast a circle
Preparations for conducting a circle
Ritual information on Samhain- October 31st
Ritual information on Yule (Winter Solstice)- December 21st
Ritual information on Imboc- February 2nd
Ritual information on Ostara- March 21st
Ritual information on Beltain- May 1st
Ritual information on Litha (Summer Solstice)- June 21st
Ritual information on Lammas- August 1st
Ritual information on Mabon- September 21st

Herbalism:
A list of frequently used herbs should be included here, some choose to include every herb available within their region. It is best also to include the uses of each herb, along with their dangers or side effects if any exist.
Astrology:
Astrological charts, birth charts, and any other astrological information that may be needed should be included here. Note that each coven due to the immense knowledge necessary fully to understand how Astrology works within the craft will have a single person who presents this information as needed. That single person would be the one to include this information within their Book of Shadows, but feel free to include Astrology if it is of interest.
Personal Information:
Poems, Songs, Dances, Chants, and Prayers – Record favorite poems, songs, dances, chants, or prayers.
Spells- Frequently used spells, or ones personally created should all be organized within its own section.
Magical Journal- This is the most important of any section of your Wiccan Book of Shadows. Include thoughts or images while doing spell or circle work. Some may include notes within their journal of struggles during their Year in a Day. Anything that would be personal that others should never read like your inner most thoughts during mediation should be included here.

Dedication Page:
Write your personal dedication down on paper to your beliefs, and include your start/end date for your Year in a Day, as well the tradition chosen to be followed. Some include the date that they started, or finished creating their Wiccan Book Of Shadows. A true Book of Shadows however is never truly completed, as many continue adding content for years to come.

Conclusion:
Some have begun in our generation to abbreviate Book of Shadows to just B.O.S for short. There will be huge variations among peoples Wiccan Book of Shadows, so remember there is no wrong way to create your personal BoS. Some will be small containing only the necessary information, while others will include all information they may ever need in regards to the craft.

View point of women as property,, letter from Rev Joey

Thank you for sharing, I am a Male Minister...I agree with you about Male Dominated religion. It is difficult especially in Baptist Church for women. In my local congregation I have 32 members 8 of them are Male and the remaining 24 are Women. According to Baptists Traditions, Women are not in any way shape or form to hold any offices in the church. I have a real problem with traditions that subjugate anyone at all. I have served this Church for the past 5 years, and I have seen many changes. I despise traditions that limit Divine moving. I have only one other man able to serve. I was very proud of my congregation when they voted to ordain five women as Elders who have served beautifully this last year.....its just like a Baptist to be long winded......lol......What I can say is that I have my first Female Minister in training....what is sad is that she is 64 years old and she is petrified to do anything without permission...although she is growing into a very wonderful outspoken Woman of God. I hope to have more Women apply to the Ministry. O.K. Now I am rambling. Thank You for listening/reading

Greetings Rev Joey
I agree with you about Male Dominated religion. yes this has been a very dominated problem since before Christ even,
Woman has taken a back seat for far to long, it is time for them to step up to reclaim their place  in this world ,as it was in the beginning ,
petrified to do anything without permission !!! Yes I have seen this my whole life due to
Humanities  in  societies View point of women as property,, it wasn’t till the 19th century
We where  allowed to seek higher education ,
Even fathers viewed their daughters as property,,    to trade or sell into marriage
That is why I have change a few things in my wedding vow’s
Others would ask at this time who gives this bride in marriage, but as a woman is not property to be bought or sold, given or taken, I ask simply if she comes of her own will and accord. Will her parents bless her on her day ?
BRIDE is it true that you come of your own free will and accord?
With whom do you come and whose blessings accompany you.

[FATHER] She comes with me, her father, and is accompanied by all of her family's blessings.
Ok now who’s getting winded LOL

Why do people become so depressed to the point of taking their own lives this time of year ?

Why do people become so depressed to the point of taking their own lives this time of year ?
STOP AND THINK.
Gift giving spending having to obtain that prefect gift is not the reason for the season.
The sun is born .the wheel turns once more .we should be grateful for our families not what’s under that tree. sooo dam what, you don’t have a dime to spend on holiday gifts who gives a crap you cant give me a store bought over priced gift . I don’t. its all propaganda to get you to spend money you do not have to spend any ways .why go out in a rush and spend spend spend then get so down and depressed. It just does not make since where in the world did the idea you have to give gifts to every one, because the sun was born ?to give a gift is for special occasions like your Childs birthdays ,not the birth of child in a manger so long ago the only gift he wants is your soul . Start a new tradition put up a tree out side ,decorate it with home made items like bird seed and nuts for the wild life in your area ,and stay up all night and sing and praise the Sun for its returning .but don’t give me a gift I have not earned it or its not my birthday.
Remember the real reason winter solstice is celebrated the return of the Sun to shine warmth down on us during the coldest part of winter just to remind us to open our hearts and homes and share the previous years harvest with those less fortune now that’s a gift worth giving and receiving.
Blessed be
Lady LaFay

RAMBLINGS Of A WITCH: What is a Pagan?

RAMBLINGS Of A WITCH: What is a Pagan?

What is a Pagan?

What is a Pagan?
A Pagan is a person who believes that everything has a soul or spirit. This is called Animism, and all Pagan religions share this belief in common. Rivers, animals, rocks, trees, land are all filled with there own unique spirits for people who are Pagans. Traditionally, Christians believe that only humans have souls or spirits.
Many environmentally conscious Christians today share the belief with Pagans that all forms of life have a soul. Pagans see the divine spirit in all life, as do some members of other religions.
Is there more than One Pagan Religion? There are hundreds of different Pagan Religions. Some of the best known Pagan religions are Buddhism, Shintoism, Native American Religions, Hinduism, Taoism, Wicca, Druidism, Asatru, Shamanism, Neo-Paganism and Eclectic Paganism.

Is Paganism a Cult?
No, Paganism is a major World Religion, with many branches. More people on Earth are Pagans than any other faith. Some Pagan groups may be classified as cults, just like some Christian groups are cults. The Christian groups headed by Jim Jones at Jonestown, who committed mass suicide, and the followers of David Koresh at Waco, Texas are both considered cults, but they were also Christian denominations.
Any religious or spiritual tradition can have cults in its midst, that does not mean that the entire tradition is a cult. Wackos and religious charletans come in all religions, denominations, and races.
The word Cult is often used as a slur word to disparage someone elses religious beliefs. It is frequently used derisively toward non-white or indigenous folk cultures and their beliefs.
Are Pagans Devil Worshippers? No, Pagans do not worship the Devil or Satan. Pagans do not believe in the Devil, he is part of the Judeo-Christian Religions and their mythology.
Most Devil worshipping groups are not Pagan, because they are centered on a Judeo-Christian supernatural being, namely Satan. These Devil Worshippers are a sect of Christianity, even though Christianity does not want to claim them.
Their focus is on opposing the mainstream Christian God and honoring the Devil, neither of these beings are part of Paganism. There is a tradition that calls itself Satanist. Satanists are not devil worshippers. They do not believe in god or the devil or any force outside themselves and other living creatures. They believe they can control their lives without the need to place responsibility on a higher power of any kind. Devil worshippers on the other hand sometimes do claim to be Satanists. . . this leads to lots of confusion.People often confuse the Occult with Pagan Religion, this is a mistake, they are very different things. Many religions, including; Pagan, Non-Pagan, Christianity and Judeaism have occult aspects, many do not..

Are Pagans Witches?
Some Pagans are Witches, some are not. Many Pagan groups do not practice Witchcraft. Wiccans are a type of Pagan Witches, there are also Dianic Witches, Green Witches, and other types of Pagan Witches. There are also Christian Witches, many of these people are practicing Christian, but also practice Witchcraft. Santeria is a South American religion that is a blend of VooDoo, Witchcraft and Christianity.
What do I need to be a Pagan?A love of Nature, and a commitment to live in harmony with the Earth and Her creatures. You need to feel in your heart that it is where your own spirituality is leading you. Paganism is for Pagans, only you know if you are a Pagan in your heart.

What is a Pagan Ritual?
A Religious or Pagan Ritual is anything that focuses your spiritual energy. A church service is a ritual, so is a wedding, or a funeral, or a Hopi Sun Dance. Humans have created rituals since the beginning of time. Ritual is the way humans express their connection with divinity and each other.
There are many kinds of Pagan Ritual, personal rituals you do by yourself, full moon rituals, by yourself or with a group. There are blessing rituals for a new home, or for children, or for healing, or cleansing. There are protection ritual, and banishing rituals, to name a few.
Your Grandmother may have placed a horseshoe over the door, this is a popular form of simple protection ritual that is rooted in Pagan tradition. Or throwing salt over your shoulder if it is spilled, so as not to attract bad luck.
For Wiccans and Neo-Pagans there are some basic Ritual Traditions that you may have heard about. Many Pagan Ritual begin by honoring the Earth and the 4 directions, as well as the elements the directions represent, Air, Fire, Water and Earth. A circle is cast and blessed with water, smoke, salt and light in honor of these elements. Rituals often include, singing, chanting, dancing, drumming, poetry and hymns to the Goddess or Gods. Some Rituals are very complex and are almost like a play, other rituals are very simple and flow with the energy of the group.

Do Pagans believe in Jesus?
Some do and some do not. Many Pagans believe in a wide variety of higher beings. Jesus is one of these beings for some Pagans. Some believe he was a great spiritual teacher, but not a god. Some have no feelings about him at all.

Who is the Pagan God?
There is no single Pagan God. Some Pagan faiths, like Hinduism and Eclectic Paganism have many Gods and Goddesses. Some Pagan Traditions like Taoism have no Gods or Goddesses. Some popular deities with contemporary American Pagans are Artemis-Diana, Inanna, the GreenMan, IsIs, Brigid, Rhiannon, Apollo, Kore, and Demeter.
What is a Goddess? The first deities humans worshipped were Goddesses. A Goddess is the female creative and life giving forces of the Universe and much more. See "Goddess 101" for more detailed answers about what a Goddess is

Do Pagans Pray?Yes, many Pagans pray and many connect with the divine in other ways. Many meditate as a form of prayer, other drum as a form of prayer, others chant, sing or dance. Some dedicate each task they perform during the day, to the Goddess. Throughout human history people have spoken to their Gods or Goddesses through many different kinds of "prayer".
When a Muslim prays, they bow toward Mecca, when a Christian prays they cross themselves, when a Buddhist prays they chant or make a sand mandala, when a Pagan prays, they may be chanting, doing ritual, hugging a tree or picking up litter on a beach, as a way of connecting with their Goddesses or Gods.

How do you become a Pagan?
You look into your heart and ask if it is the right path for you. Some people are born Pagans, even though they do not even know the word, others are born into Pagan cultures, and many others become Pagan when they search their hearts for a connection with their Spirits.
To become a practicing Pagan, you must learn to look at Nature and begin to honor Her ways and cycles. Many new Pagans begin by celebrating the phases of the Moon. This can be as simple as taking the time each evening to gaze at the Moon and sing softly to yourself. Make up the words as you go along, you will be amazed at how easy it is. Really look at plants, and your cat, sit quietly and see if you can feel their energy. The first steps to becoming a Pagan are becoming aware of the magic of the natural world around you. The second step is do a small personal ritual and self-blessing that celebrates your entering the Pagan Path.

What do Pagans do?
Pagans try to live in harmony with the Earth and raise their children to honor the ways of Nature. Pagans strive to strengthen their understanding of this miracle called Life.Pagans go to school, go to work, pay taxes, clean house, garden, raise kids, make art, watch TV, do not watch TV, eat at McDonalds, do not eat at McDonalds and love or hate computers, just like everyone else.
Pagans are just folks who have a different religion, a Nature Religion that teaches them to honor all life. Pagans honor their Goddesses and Gods with the same faith that non-pagans have their own religions.

Where are the Pagan Churches?
There are thousands of Pagan Temples around the world. Most Eclectic Pagans, Wiccans and Native American Religions do not worship in churches. Because they are Nature Religions. Religious Rituals are often held outside, in parks, fields, wooded groves, at a beach or lake, anywhere that promotes a connection with Nature. Large public rituals are often held in auditoriums, small rituals are often held in peoples homes. There are also Virtual Temples and Altars online.

Why do people say bad things about Pagans?
People often ridicule what they do not understand. Fundamental Christianity seems especially threatened by Pagans, although I do not know why. Many hateful, ridiculous, and untrue things about Paganism have been said by Fundamentalist preachers, who obviously were not paying any attention to Jesus message. Hate and prejudice were never a part of Jesus teachings. Hollywood has also created many damaging and untrue stereotypes to sell movie tickets. Funny, no one believes Robo-Cop is real, but people seem anxious to believe any absurd thing said about Pagans or Witches. (NO "The Craft" was not realistic or true at all!!!)

Can a Christian be a Pagan too?
Many cultures have a blend of Christian and Pagan beliefs within their Christian Religions. Irish Catholicism, Mexican, Italian and South American Catholicism all have incorporated many Pagan beliefs and customs into their Christian faith. I am sure there are many others, but these are the ones I am most familiar with. The crowning of Mary on May Day is from the older Pagan custom of "Crowning the May Queen" as a representative of the Goddess.
Religious belief is a very personal thing, it is the most personal thing about you. How you express your spirituality is no ones business but your own and what you believe is between you and your higher power. Your truth is in your own heart, honor it and do not let anyone limit it.
How do I start learning about being a Pagan?
You look into your heart and begin asking yourself questions about what is sacred. The essence of Paganism is within you, many of the answers are there. There are some resources listed below that will help you to learn more about Paganism. Start with remembering top be grateful to the earth for sustaining your life and giving you food.

What can I do if my family or friends think it is bad to be a Pagan?
You can try to educate them. If this does not work, quietly develop a Pagan heart. You can begin by trusting your own perceptions. Then honor Nature and learn Her ways. You may not be able to buy books or go to public rituals, but you can watch a small patch of grass for 10 minutes and really see it, all true power comes through understanding.
You can gaze at the night sky and feel the power of the Moon, and get to know Her phases .......You can learn about herbs, and the environment .......You can practice sewing, so when you can have ritual clothes, you will be able to create beautiful ones .......You can look at National Geographics at the Library and learn about Pagan societies and beliefs around the world .......You can go to museums and see ancient Goddess & God figures .......You can study about Native American customs ....... You can pick up litter as a way to be a Pagan honoring Mother Earth .......You can meditate .......You can collect pictures of Nature .......You can soak in a tub and do a private ritual in your mind, as you bless the water for its life giving essence .......You can notice if the plants or animals around you need food or water .......You can thank the Earth for each bit of food you eat.......You can learn to recognize what Nature is saying by listening.
Regardless of what your friends or family believe, you can practice your faith in small, simple, healing ways that will create a powerful spiritual energy within you and strengthen your connection with the Earths Wisdom and Spirituality.

Where can I learn more?
There are many good places online to learn about Paganism and Earth-Spirit Religions. There are message boards on AOL at Keyword: Pagan, Buddhism, and Native American. "The Witches Web" is a great place to find out about some Pagan beliefs. Some great Pagan Web Pages are listed at The Pagan Directory Online. A great resource is Avatar Search, a Metaphysical Search Engine that has many listings under Pagan.
"Drawing Down the Moon" by Margot Adleris a great guide to the Pagan and Wicca groups and beliefs in the USA, this book is available from Amazon.com
